على هامش مشاركتها في الدورة 38 لمجلس حقوق الإنسان بجنيف التقي وفد رسمي من مؤسسة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان مع المقرر الخاص لدولة اريتريا بالأمم المتحدة السيدة ” شيل -بي كيثرياس وطاقم مكتبها ، وذلك لمناقشة أوضاع حقوق الإنسان هناك ، وعرض رؤية مؤسسة ماعت ذات الصلة ، وبحث فرص التنسيق والتعاون في هذا الإطار
وقد صرح أيمن عقيل رئيس مؤسسة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان بأنه تم تسليم المقررة الخاصة التقرير الذي أعدته المؤسسة عن تقييمها للأوضاع الحقوقية في الدولة ، وهو التقرير الذي شاركت به مؤسسة ماعت في أعمال الدورة 38 وتحديدا تحت البند 4 من اعمال المجلس ، المعنون بتقرير المقرر الخاص المعني بحالة حقوق الإنسان في إريتريا وفقا للقرار HRC 35/35)
كما أشار عقيل إلى أن أريتريا تشهد تدخلات خارجية متعددة في شؤونها، ويتزامن مع هذه التدخلات تباطؤ الحكومة الإريترية في تخفيف القيود على الحريات الأساسية في البلاد، التضيق على الناشطين والمعارضين السياسيين، وتقييد الاحتجاجات السلمية، بالإضافة إلى القيود المفروضة على حرية التعبير وتكوين الجمعيات والأحزاب السياسية وأوضح ان كل هذه الامور تم مناقشتها مع السيدة المقررة الخاصة .

On the side of Maat’s participation in the 38th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, an official delegation from Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights met with the Special Rapporteur of the United Nations Eritrea, Ms.Sheila B. Keetharuth, and her staff. In order to, discuss the human rights situation in Eritrea, and present the Maat’s Vision concerning to it. As well as, discussing the opportunities for coordination and cooperation in this regard.
Ayman Okeil, the General director of Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights, said that the report that prepared by Maat to evaluate the human rights situation in the country, has been submitted to the Special Rapporteur. Maat participated in the activities of 38th session by this report, in particular, under item 4 of the Council’s work, which entitled the report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Eritrea in accordance with resolution HRC 35/35.
Okeil also stated that Eritrea is witnessing several external interventions in its affairs. These interventions concur with the Eritrean government’s deceleration in simplifying the restrictions on fundamental freedoms in the country, constraining activists and political opponents, limiting peaceful protests. In addition to that the Eritrean government restricts the freedom of expression and association and political parties’ foundation. All these aspects were discussed with the Spe
